Brand New Monday-Punt, Pass and Rap

It does not hurt to have the last name Manning these days. Forget the three combined Super Bowl rings and the three combined Super Bowl MVP trophies. Forget the 15 total Pro Bowls. Forget the 90,000 total passing yards and 600-plus combined touchdown throws. The sight of Peyton and Eli — two of the NFL’s top players — riffing off their dorky personalities in ridiculous costumes, became a massive hit on the sports Internet when the video was released Tuesday.

Direct TV rolls out the ability to tune into live NFL action on your mobile device, you can get highlight alerts,
track your NFL.com Fantasy league, see real-time stats and more. Actually, a brilliant piece of marketing for DirecTV’s Sunday Ticket NFL package, the song and video extoll the virtues of “football on your phone.”

The quarterbacks are among the most popular pitchmen in sports, and their commercials, filmed both together and separately, have become some of the most talked-about spots on TV.  As might be expected, the Mannings’ attempt at rap stardom has already gone viral, spawning one too many GIF’s and almost immediately earning the informal title of one of the “greatest commercials featuring athletes” of all time. There’s always an audience waiting to see what the Mannings will do next. Bravo DirecTV!

So which Manning do you think is the better pitchman? Or are they better as a team? Let us know and as always stay #TopRight.
